Since 2018, the Taipei City Government has assisted its biotech companies to expand globally and increase their visibility by organizing business groups to participate in international biotech exhibitions. The goal is to foster and facilitate collaborations between biotech companies and global biotech manufacturers. The Taipei City Government invited 6 previous Taipei Biotech Awards winners, including Formosa Pharmaceuticals, OBI Pharma, BRIM Biotechnology, Chang Gu Biotechnology, Precise Big Data, and PlexBio, to participate in the 2023 BIO International Convention. The 4-day event received attention and inquiries from a large number of international manufacturers, and over 200 matchmaking sessions were held, breaking the previous record for an exhibition event. Manufacturers from nearly 30 countries came to seek collaboration, and the event successfully attracted international attention and highlighted Taipei’s biotechnology innovations.
